My daughter Rowan and hubby and baby will be leaving for Scotland/Italy this coming Monday for a little holiday with family...I think Xenia will have a word or two of Scottish dialect by the time she gets home.

This is really only the beginning of the mural at layout and underpaintng stage....
AUG. 25

...the mural under way...
...and the episode of ASPHALT...

...hmmm,  the new dog ASPHALT who basically was raised in a feral situation, and has been absolutely terrified of people, and would run away from anybody at the least attention, including if you looked at him directly in the eyes, and was doing so well at slowly becoming "socialized", even finally letting out to run free with the other dogs the night before...suddenly took a weird turn, and bit a lady who walked into our yard, after Ruth told her not to worry, the dogs only made a lot of noise... of which is what they have always done, and no problem ever occurred with anybody before...but there was a basic ingredient that we did not know and that was the man who was with the woman is terrified of dogs.

If there is one thing I know about dogs from a whole life of being around them, is that if a dog senses FEAR , it sets off an immediate alarm in their dog brain that says CHASE, ATTACK, BITE...

The thing is Gina, Buddy and Franny are a little further away from their primitive DNA than Asphalt, or in other words are more used to human beings being the dominant force...

Unfortunately, we did not anticipate this condition, nor the fact that Asphalt would suddenly reverse his behavior from the whole month he has been here, where people have walked into the yard and he runs away...also we did not realize his BLUE HEALER instincts would suddenly kick in and he would go for grabbing the haunches of what ever creature was  on his turf, which for thousands of years with his breed has been sheep, cows, goats, etc., all who have much tougher skin and hair  than a middle-aged lady in a dress...
